NEW YORK—Dispatched from the park where he is expected to testify before Congress Tuesday, New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez arrived at the Capitol Building in Manhattan at 6:45 a.m., according to several witnesses present. "I came here at the exact same time as [Senate Majority Leader] Harry Reid and [House Minority Leader] Nancy Pelosi," said Rodriguez, who will be joined by former Yankees great Willie Mays and former New York Jets and New York Yankees players Vin Scully, Lou Brock, and Charlie Weis. "But even though I was the first one there, I'm not sure they'll let me testify until after [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi and [Senate Majority Leader] Mitch McConnell are done with their hearings." Rodriguez did say he was grateful to be here, as he was most excited about testifying before the Senate and the House.
