WASHINGTON—Posing for photos and taking notes during Wednesday morning’s House Ways and Means Committee hearing on Capitol Hill, sources confirmed that members of Congress gathered for a special meeting in the Capitol building to vote on tax cuts. “It was pretty much unanimous that we should vote on tax cuts,” said House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX), who explained that the bill would be approved and submitted to the full House, as well as the Senate, to give lawmakers the chance to “add a little something to the bottom line” with the tax code. “We think we’ve got a great deal. It’s a win-win.” According to reports, the American people were less than pleased with the outcome of the tax cut, though they were encouraged to take back more of the money by voting for it.
