Mother Totally Reluctant To Pick Up Her Son From School

LEXINGTON, VA—Saying she had no desire to be rude or push the envelope, local mother of three Angela Lathrop admitted that she was somewhat hesitant to pick up her teenage son from school Thursday. “I feel like he’s always at home with me, so it might be a little awkward for him to go out with another girl,” said Lathrop, adding that she was nervous about letting her 15-year-old daughter, Stephanie, spend time with a boy who wasn’t exactly her type. “I’m a little nervous about how he might react to being the one taking care of him, but I think he might get over it. It’ll be weird, though. What if he doesn’t like it? He might just stay home instead of going out with someone who does.” At press time, sources confirmed that Lathrop’s fears were confirmed when her son broke down and told her he wasn’t sure how to handle being the one who had to spend the entire school year with her.
